The status quo is something that has never interested me.

Going to school, getting a job, buying a house, starting a family, retiring in your mid 60’s – yeah, that’s the one I’m talking about. The way I see it, so many people get trapped into this way of living because that’s what they’ve been told to do since they were born.

I want to go down a different path. At the age of 23, I’ve set the goal of gaining financial freedom in five years. If you’re not familiar with the concept, financial freedom means that you can live without having to work a regular job because you have built enough streams of passive income to support your lifestyle. In short, you can actually live the life you want to live rather than the life everyone tells you that you need to live.

This goal might sound extremely ambitious – maybe a little naive – but in my mind, it beats the alternative of living the life everyone else is prescribed. The life where you work five days a week at a job that doesn’t excite you or give you fulfillment. The life where you rely on a paycheck as your only source of income with no other alternative. The life where you live for the weekends and dread going to work on Monday rather than waking up every day doing what you love.

Through this blog, you’ll be able to follow my journey towards gaining financial freedom and living the life I want to live – complete with personal stories, tips, advice, struggles, triumphs and everything in between. By no means am I an expert on this subject; however, I hope that my story will inspire you and many others to consider making the leap towards the life you want.
